MISSION LOG 01.1 "Into the Lion's Den"

Klemendat pointed towards Communications. "Open a ship wide channel. The Captain will be making an announcement."

The communications officer nodded, "Attention All hands, Attention all hands, This is Captain Dothan...On orders from Federation Command we are to proceed to the Romulan held sector of 221.57 to investigate a mysterious wreckage in space." Dothan continued " I wanted all sections in top form on this one, I want hourly drills and checks on propulsion, sensors, and weaponry."

Wreckage!? thought Klemendat, The fleet's most advanced starship will begin its career looking at wreckage!? There had better be something VERY important in that old pile of garbage- or I'm transferring out of here!!!

"Interesting..." Ensign Johnson said out loud, he had observed the varying humanoid changes in tone and body language that had occurred between the Commander and his reactions to the Captain. I'd better file that away for future references... John looked at the Counselor... "Excuse me, but did the Captain just say wreckage?" John lifted an eyebrow punctuating his question toward the Counselor.

"Indeed", he replied

John tilted his head slightly and nodded inwardly as he assimilated the information, his eyes moved from side to side as though reading information only he could see. "I don't seem to recall any ships reported as lost in the target sector...at least none recently."

Dothan concluded: "This is our first mission, lets make our name ring throughout the galaxy, We are StarQuest, We are the best, Qapla! Mr. Rahk'bar, heading 221.57, Warp Factor 7"

"Two-two one mark five seven, yes sir." repeating the order was not really necessary, but it was a habit that had been begun centuries ago on ancient Earth's sea faring ships.  It help ensure that the proper order was being obeyed. I don't believe it! He thought. I join the Federation to get away from Romulus, and my first official act is to plot a course straight for Romulan space.
